Cathy Tweeddale

Provisionally Licensed (PLPC)

With 28 years of experience teaching high school, Cathy brings a rare depth of firsthand understanding to her work with teens, young adults, and families. Her path to counseling wasn’t a straight line: alongside teaching, she has coached speed skating, worked in theatre and performing arts, competed in powerlifting, and co-created a self-defense class with two black belt instructors trained in two different martial arts styles. That range of experience shapes how she shows up for clients.

Cathy believes meaningful change begins with genuinely being seen. Clients often say she notices things about them that other people miss, and that she seems truly glad to be in the room with them, not just doing a job. Her goal is to make the uncomfortable feel approachable, meeting each person and family exactly where they are, with warmth, patience, and honesty.

Cathy holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary, and specializes in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients and their families. She is ADOS-2 certified for autism assessment and trained in LEGO-Based Therapy through Brick by Brick Academy, bringing specialized, evidence-informed tools to support neurodivergent clients and the people who love them. What makes someone different, Cathy believes, is what makes them worth understanding, not something to fix or hide.

Whether you’re navigating a new autism or ADHD diagnosis, supporting a neurodivergent family member, adjusting to a major life transition, working through anxiety or trauma, or strengthening a relationship, Cathy strives to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and equipped to move forward.
