Yes. We offer both in-person sessions at our Chesterfield office and secure telehealth sessions for clients located in Missouri. Telehealth provides a flexible option for those with busy schedules, travel demands, or a preference for meeting from home, while maintaining the same level of care and professionalism as in-person therapy.
If you know which therapist you would like to work with, you can directly contact them through their counselor page. They will reach back to you with details on session times and availability. If you are not sure which therapist you would like to work with, you can contact us here by email, or schedule a free 15 minute phone call to talk to our team and we will help recommend a few therapists who would fit your situation.
In the event that you feel your therapist is not the best fit, we want to help remedy that! Please let the therapist know, or contact us via phone or email. We fully understand that this can feel awkward but it’s our goal to find the exact right fit for you.
In the event that you feel your therapist is not the best fit for any reason, we want to help remedy that! Please let the therapist know, or contact us via phone or email. Our client care coordinator can help match with you with another therapist, or set up a free 15 minute consultation with another therapist before you decide to schedule a session. We fully understand that this can feel awkward to make a change, but it’s our goal to find the exact right fit for you. Our therapists are always open to helping you find another fit if you are not what they are looking for.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. Rates vary by provider based on experience, training, and licensure.
- $120 to $200 for licensed and experienced therapists
- $45 to $90 for graduate students (counselors in training)
For most clients, weekly sessions are a helpful starting point, allowing for consistency, momentum, and meaningful progress. As therapy evolves, some clients choose to transition to bi-weekly or monthly sessions, depending on their needs and goals. Our team will work with you to find a rhythm that feels supportive and sustainable for you.
Chesterfield Counseling Associates is a private pay practice, which allows us to provide a higher level of personalized, thoughtful care without many of the limitations set by insurance companies.
We will do our best to help you regardless of your financial situation. We have a range of session costs, depending on the provider, with sessions ranging from $45 per session to $200 per session.
Insurance often requires a mental health diagnosis, restricts the length or frequency of sessions, and limits how care is delivered. By working outside of these constraints, our therapists are able to focus on what is most helpful for you, whether that is depth of work, flexibility in scheduling, or a more individualized approach to your goals.
Many of our clients value the privacy, discretion, and autonomy that private pay allows. While we do not bill insurance directly, we can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers those benefits.
The first session is an opportunity to begin understanding your goals, experiences, and what brings you to therapy. Your therapist will ask thoughtful questions, gather background information, and begin to identify a path forward. It is also a chance for you to get a sense of the therapist’s style and determine if the fit feels right.
Parent involvement can be an important part of the process, especially for younger children. Your child’s therapist will provide guidance on the level of involvement that is appropriate for your unique situation.
Not at all. Many couples begin therapy because they value their relationship and want to strengthen communication, deepen connection, or navigate life transitions more intentionally. Therapy can be both preventative and restorative.
Yes. Many of our clients are highly capable and successful, yet still experience stress, burnout, or a sense of feeling stuck internally. Therapy provides a space to think more clearly, process complexity, and create sustainable ways of moving forward.
